OneSky convenes online conference for home-based caregivers

The second OneSky Annual Conference for HBC providers was held late last year with over 150 participants from four provinces across Vietnam convening online.

The conference brings together graduates of OneSky’s Home-based Childcare (HBC) training which is designed to improve the quality of early care and education for children of low-income families living and working in industrial zones. Through the conference and other ongoing professional development opportunities, OneSky is building a skilled, respected, and empowered workforce of childcare providers in Vietnam.

Kim Loan, one of OneSky’s first HBC trainees who attended the training course in Da Nang in 2018, called the annual conference a special occasion to share experiences, exchange knowledge, and network with other trainees from different parts of Vietnam.

“After three years, I continue to be inspired by OneSky and find something new, either through the seminars and conferences or through the learning platform 1GiaDinhLon. I’m forever grateful to be part of that 1BIGFAMILY.”

Mien Nguyen, a trainee currently attending the training course in Hai Duong province, commented: “The training course helps us to love our work and gives us real-life lessons to gain better skills in taking care of children. The conference is a bridge connecting all the caregivers, some of them I have never met before, but I now consider as sisters in the community of care.”

Since 2018, in partnership with the Vietnamese government, OneSky has trained 880 HBC providers impacting over 20,000 vulnerable young children in Da Nang, Quang Nam, Hai Duong, and now Quang Ngai.
